A $4.5 million redevelopment of Bonbeach Life Saving Club, has members upbeat about their new modern two storey clubhouse.
Considered to be a hidden gem, Bonbeach’s white sands beside the bay have been patrolled by the club since 1932. The DDA-compliant clubhouse (left) will feature a spacious storage room, training and multipurpose spaces plus a kitchenette. Volunteer life savers will be able to keep an eagle eye over swimmers from the impressive observation tower and balcony too.
Commitments of $2.5 million and $2 million, respectively were made by the City of Kingston and the state government to facilitate the project.
With preliminary community consultation now complete and the planning permit advertised, tendering for the state-of-the-art project is now on the horizon.
